my reflections on KMS

Hey Ms Jamie Teo, i hope you can see that i have been trying hard to really score well for KMS. It's realli been tough as i really have been studying it all along. I feel that this blog entry will help me to express what i am going to relate to you regarding what has been for me throughout this whole semester.

We had learnt about what is KMS and the individual strategies of knowledge management at the very beggining of the semester. The use of SECI model by Professor Nonaka has been quite rewarding in doing the test questions which i find that i had to actually apply the respective concepts of socialization, externalization, combination as well as internalization. We had abit of time with the strategies codification and personalization which i thought was applied in the daily routine. We get personalized through chatting, even just simple chats during the lecture regarding questions that we do not know. Codification was really easy for us as we had MeL to support us with lecture notes. This e-learning tool is good in a sense that we can actually do a virtual chat which we did in one of the e-learning weeks of KMS. I remember my quote was "I have seen so many of my friends who are so tired, yet still have the motivation to blog." That was what i saw in the exam question as well. haha.

What was tough was actually the technology section of KMS. We had to learn how to implement KMS as well as the ethics of KMS to be performed even when im writing this entry. This is a personal blog so no offences, i just write all about my "adventures". Even before doing ethics as a lesson, i already knew that some things should be written and some things should not be written on blogs. I had a personal experience myself when i was 17. My friend was totally pissed off when i wrote about the discussion with her outside on the blog. It was about bed secrets and stuff. I remembered she refused to talk to me for 3 months. It was really bad.

We learnt about data mining and data warehouse which had a big difference because everyone thinks that they are the same which is not the truth. Lots of people find enterprise portals interesting because we had a good activity of drawing an impression of a portal during tutorial. I felt that the particular lesson was not only just personalizing with each other, but also a knowledge sharing process that could be indulged with witty and critical speeches.

In summary, i feel that knowledge management does really manage people as well as information in a sense that we cultivate ourselves and change our personal behaviors to actually accomodate how we are going to share knowledge with each other. Transferring, creating and re-using knowledge does mean something to me. I had indeed gained alot from this learning process.
